Lampvos asked: we have serious problem with this alien invader tree here in South Africa esp. mountain tributiries, its a serious threat to our local vegetation because it has no natural enemies here. What can one do to get rid of it? I’m only interested in poisons that would not be harmful to the environment/ecology.

b_rent — I understand that it is a theory. I am wondering what that proof/evidence is that supports the theory.
Lettie D - no - 2000 scientists are not proof. It is a logical fallacy to believe something based on “authority.” Those scientists must have come to their conclusions based on proof/evidence - what is it?
Cgy Loki — I understand that greenhouse gasses are said to have a greenhouse effect. However, greenhouse gases are emitted from the earth all the time, in tremendously HUGE quantities — volcanoes produce more CO2 and other greenhouse gases than man does, and CO2 is vented from the ocean floor in HUGE quantities. Has there been a comprehensive study of the different sources that has shown that man’s emissions are of greater impact than natural emissions?
