Being that Christians agree with animal sacrifice, do you think that influences the way they think of animals?

chloe asked:

…and animal rights issues, the environment, ecology, etc?
Actually, The God you worship and often defend for it loves animal sacrifice, so you obviously agree with it…..

Animal Sacrifice is all over your bible, god LOVES to see animals bleed and burn.
Read the book you worship so.

Animal sacrifice was demanded by God before Christ came to this planet. After that it was no longer necessary because Christ became the sacrificial lamb.

Christians have nothing to do with animal sacrifices, nor condones them. You have bad information.

Everything you cite is Old Testament. Christ made all things new. It is nowhere in the New Testament.

Animal sacrifices are no longer valid. Jesus Christ was the last sacrifice. Why dont you post a real question instead of the made up lies that you post?

It was the Jews who believed in animal sacrifice. Christ ended animal sacrifices by offering Himself. So what “Christians” do you know who practice animal sacrifice? You should report them to the authorities.

and as for animals rights, as long as we’re not abusing them, we’re fine. and no I don’t mean the food chain, I mean like hunting animals to extinction or messing with their genetics.

We do NOT do animal sacrifice we love the animals of the earth as God saw fit to give us dominion over them. Environment and ecological issues are a common ground.

If I were to take your train of thought and turn it around I could ask something like this:
“Being that ignorant people make generalizations about Christians, spouting out some rediculous idea that they have no real understanding of, do you think that influences the way Christians think about them?”

Christians don’t agree with animal sacrifices. The Jewish people sacrificed animals in the Old Testament, as did every other religion of the time. The Jews did it as a type of the ultimate sacrifice that would take place when Jesus would die on the cross.
Christians have no history of animal sacrifice. However the Druids did, but they are also very strong supporters of the environment, and have what some would call a “green” agenda.
When I see questions like yours I immediately know your asking out of ignorance… and ignorance isn’t a bad thing in and of itselt, it simply becomes a bad thing when you use it to attack what you are ignorant about.

I don’t know about you Chloe – but during the haj pilgrimage to Mecca thing thousands of camels goats an cows died a horrible death! the largest sacrificial killing in the world!

so you wanna rephrase you generalized question plz! I am a christian and don’t agree with pagan practices.

When asking a question it is best you know your subject matter. Read the Bible all the way through. Since you haven’t, I will attempt to answer your question:
In the Old Testament (Testament translated means “Promise”), God asked his people, the Jews, to sacrifice the blood of certain animals as a means to forgive them for their sins. This was way before PETA or any other animal rights were around, and people ate to stay alive. When the New Testament came about, or God’s new Promise, Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice on a cross. His blood was the end to blood sacrifices. That is it in a nutshell.

This reminds me of a story, you see, there was this guy named Cain, and he grew vegetables, let’s just call him a vegan. And there was this other guy, Able, who happened to be Cain’s brother. Able raised sheep, and Able loved God. God was pleased with Able, but He warned Cain that sin was crouched and waiting for him. Cain got mad at Able- the story doesn’t say it, but perhaps because he mistakenly thought that Able was into animal sacrifice? And Cain killed his brother Able.

Now Cloe, since Vegans and Vegetable eaters always kill their brothers who raise sheep, do you think that influences the way you think of shepherds, or the way you see God?

Can you even see with such a big set of misconception eyeglasses on?

  28. Jim B says:

    Jeffrey

Christians believe that there is no power to have sins forgiven in the sacrifice of any animal. We believe that the sacrifice of Christ is the true sacrifice. Not one drop of the blood of any animal made any difference at all, not ever. It was all a foreshadowing of the blood of Jesus…. Jim

  29. kittywink says:

    Stacey

you’ve really got it mixed up Cloe. The Old Testament did have animal sacrifice for the Jews to atone for sin because Jesus had not yet lived. Blood sacrifice is neccesary for sin to be purged. After Jesus there was no need for animal sacrifice. Have you seen any Baptist, Methodist or Catholic people slicing up lambs? I think not. Not for 2000 years.

  30. billy h says:

    Timothy

The Bible specifically states that we are not to kill animals for sport.

Jesus Christ died for our sins and He became the sacrificial Lamb. So, no we simply pray to Him, not sacrifice animals.
